How to Use a Dog Recovery Suit
Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure the correct fit, comfort, and protection during your pet’s recovery.
Step 1
Close the Velcro around the neck to ensure a secure but comfortable fit.
Step 2
Fit the front paws through the front sleeves first.
Step 3
Fit the back paws through the back sleeves.
Step 4
Close the zipper fully to secure the recovery suit.
Step 5
Evaluate the fit to ensure comfort and proper coverage.
Step 6
If your patient is deep chested and the waist is too loose, open the zipper from the back, adjust the elastic band using the button.
Step 7
If your patient does not need the neck feature, remove the padding.
Step 8
Check the adjustment of the neck. Make sure you can fit 2 fingers in, so it’s not too tight.
Step 9
If your patient is male and does not need protection in the penis area, cut through the seam or create an opening within the marked circle.
Step 10
If your patient is female and the vulva does not need protection, cut out the protective sleeve.
Step 11
If your patient needs to use drains, cut inside the circle on either side, to pass the drain or tubes through.
Step 12
Use the loops to attach tubes and drains.
Other Customizations
If the sleeves are too long, you may roll them up or trim them for a better fit. For a cleaner finish when creating a short-sleeve style, cut just below the short-sleeve feature.
